The Global Institute for Sustainable Development is a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) public charity that strengthens workforce and nonprofit capacity, advances applied research, promotes structured community collaboration, and expands economic opportunity through education, innovation, and global-to-local knowledge exchange.

To empower individuals and communities across Virginia by delivering structured education and skills development programs, including technology and artificial intelligence training, and by advancing initiatives that expand economic opportunity and professional growth.
Vision
To serve as a regional education and innovation hub that connects knowledge, technology, and community collaboration to strengthen workforce capacity and long-term economic participation.
Our story
Built properly before built big.
GISD was incorporated in Virginia in June 2024 and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity effective June 28, 2024. The institute was founded in Centreville, in Fairfax County, by professionals in project management, education, and institutional development.
The first year was spent doing the unglamorous work correctly: governance, registrations, budget, and a board-adopted strategic plan. That foundation is deliberate. The first full programming year is FY2027, and it begins on an institution that funders, agencies, and partners can rely on.
